On Saturday morning, I went out with my good friend Ben Borup and his dad to Kiwana's Park. The day started out good with a beautiful silver necklace with a small silver locket. Everyone seemed to do really well that day. On Sunday after church, I went to try out Rock Canyon Elementary school. I was quickly surprised to see three other people metal detecting in the field. I decided to go around some of the soccer fields and I did pretty well.
This is always a good sight when you flip the ground over and see SILVER!!!
Saturday's Haul
The picture inside has worn away, hopefully the love is still strong haha
Sunday's haul
This is the bulk of all the finds for the week. I estimate that I found a little over $20 in coins, 6 rings, 2 necklaces, and 5 keys. Pretty good week.

4/26/2012 - Trip to Rotary Park and Hillcrest Park
At lunch yesterday, I drove passed this beautiful park with large trees and a lot of open space. When metal detecting it's always nice to find parks with large old trees because you have a better chance of finding something old. That was not the case at Rotary Park, It was very trashy and I was picking up pull tabs with every step. I only found a few coins and all were on the surface. I decided to go back to Hillcrest Park where I found my silver quarter and 3 silver rings. It turn out to be a decent haul. The little necklace piece says 18KGP on it, meaning 18 karat gold plated. A couple other rings and one silver ring made the hunt enjoyable.

Big Weekend
With the weather finally hitting 80 degrees, I was out there digging it up all weekend long. I think from Friday-Sunday, I found over $25 in clad and a few nice rings. This is Saturday's haul from a couple parks.Kawana's Park keeps producing wheat pennies for me.
This was a little ring I found at Cascade Park. It has a bunch of Dolphins on it.

Back to Cascade Park In Search of Platinum Ring
On Friday I got done with work early and went back to look for the ring. I found a lot of clad and a few interesting finds.
Here is the pair of silver rings I found out at Cascade Park. I think that makes 4 total rings but no platinum ring.
This is something interesting! Back in the day when people would hide their money, they would call it a cache. It appears that some kid was trying to hide his cache in the field behind the school. I hope he doesn't get too mad when he realizes it's gone.
This is a first as well. I had quarter signal come up and when I turned it over, there was golf ball right next store.
Total count for Friday's haul
That arrow head necklace piece has a buffalo nickel in the middle.

Cascade park in search of platinum ring!!!
Went out today with Ben and his dad to help find a platinum ring that was lost in Cascade Park. I thought I had it with the CTR ring I found but it wasn't it. The snake scared me when I went over it hahaha. Also I found a coin from Peru!!! The CTR ring has Rm-11 inside and it registered very close to what a nickel would do.

History of VT Mining
In the past three years, I have increased my metal detecting finds. In
2010 I found a little over $30 worth of coins, 7 rings including one
gold ring, and a few old wheat pennies. In 2011, VT Mining grew over
300% with a net haul of $104 in coins, several wheat and silver coins,
30 rings including over 15 silver rings. Here is a little snap shot of
2011. 2012 is already off to a BOOMING start!!!
Here is a record breaking day finding five silver rings!!!
Here is my only gold ring. I need more of this in my life
Here are some other good days on the job :)
